Camp Eberhart!

Coming Together as a Community

If the whole of mankind is to be united into one brotherhood, all obstacles must be removed so that men, all over the surface of the globe, should be as children playing in a garden. ~Dr. Maria Montessori

At the beginning of the school year, the students from Upper Elementary spend one night and two days at Camp Eberhart in Three Rivers, Michigan.

During this incredible experience, the children and teachers begin to come together as a community.  Activities such archery, rock wall climbing, canoeing, and more, help to bring the children together as a team.  This trip helps set the tone for the next year.  The classroom and Upper Elementary culture is born.

Today, the Upper Elementary students presented their assembly about Camp Eberhart - the chaos of riding on the bus, Dutch auction, jumping off Coop's Tower - it has all been transformative.

Celebrating our Families at Montessori Academy

"Children become like the things they love." ~ Dr. Maria Montessori Two times per year, our Elementary and Junior High classrooms host a parent breakfast. The breakfast is one community activity in which we open our classrooms to our families so that they make take a glimpse into what their children are doing in the classroom. At Montessori Academy, we pride ourselves on our ability to build strong relationships with the many wonderful families that have been a part of our school's long history.  Sharing who we are and what we do is vital to bridging the gap between the school and home.  If you have not had the opportunity to take part in one of our parent breakfasts, we hope you can make it the next time.  To learn more about what we do at Montessori Academy, please contact Kathy Kolata at kkolata@tma-el.org.
